When
your plans call for rugged, warm outerwear, you’ll find that
you have many options. Your basic jacket still works, but you’ll
want to explore your waterproof options.
Choosing your outerwear carefully will allow you to stay warm when
the temperatures are frigid, but the great thing about good outerwear,
is that it allows you to adjust your clothing to the appropriate
climate. As the day warms up, you’ll want to peel off the
right number of layers.
When selecting your outerwear, look for gloves made with waterproof
fabrics. Lined gloves are always a plus because of the comfort level
they provide. Lining in your gloves will also help absorb moisture
from perspiration.
A well-crafted waterproof item is key in keeping you dry and comfortable.
You want to select fabrics that have the right combination of breathability
and waterproofing. Look for jackets and liners that will be comfortable
throughout the day. Again, layers provide a wonderful way to adjust
for optimal comfort.
Tips for selecting your outerwear:
· Choose your gloves or mitts for their waterproof material,
but also for warmth comfort and durability.
· If you are going to be hitting the snow trails this winter,
waterproof pants are a must.
· Look for breathability in your outerwear
· A good pair of thermals makes a great first layer
Choosing a fabric is important for two reasons: your choice of
fabric affects how well your outerwear serves you in rough weather
and, and certain fabrics require more care than others. Take the
time for a well thought out outerwear wardrobe.
