Polaris
(NYSE: PII) has been an icon in the snowmobile industry since 1954
and is blasting now introducing the widest breadth of new products
in its snowmobile line in company history. We now have fifteen new
models featuring five all-new engines.
The 2006 line have been built with the new IQ™ Chassis, originally
developed by Polaris for two 2005 model year sleds, which in 2005
were acclaimed by the media and snowmobile enthusiasts. Polaris
is making a concerted effort to build snowmobiles with more power,
lower emissions, smoother rides, easier handling and enhanced rider
ergonomics. In addition, the new Polaris models include two high
performance, low-emission four-strokes. Polaris announces that the innovative IQ™ Chassis will make
2006 the most successful yea yet in the history of as a snowmobile
manufacturer.”
The IQ™ Chassis has been improved significantly for 2006,
affecting sleds in several categories – Mountain, Performance,
Trail Luxury, Touring and Crossover, offering riders a balanced,
smooth and stable ride. The new Polaris line-up offers the Rider
Select™ steering system. With the push of a button, a rider
can move the steering post to any of seven positions across a 6”
range. Some improvements include a new, true-tracking, composite
IQ™ Ski that can use one or two runners; a new ski spindle
for less “push” in corners and less drag in deep snow;
adjustable ski stance on some models, and an improved belt pull
angle.
The Liberty 600 HO attracts performance-minded riders who demand
great acceleration and top-end power, nine percent more horsepower
at its peak, comparatively. The Liberty 700 has a two-cylinder,
four-injector, two-stroke engine with outstanding torque. It’s
lightweight, designed to fit low in the IQ Chassis, and is compliant
with EPA emissions standards through 2010. The new 2006 Liberty
900 engine has improved calibration for operation, starting and
throttle response, horsepower and fuel economy. The high-pressure
injection system improves atomization of fuel, and meets EPA emissions
standards up to 2010. The engine management system of new Polaris
snowmobile parts also ensures easy starting with no choke. The Polaris
snowmobile part 750 four-stroke engines already meet the EPA’s
proposed standards for model year 2012, is acclaimed the Best Available
Technology (BAT) and can be used in Yellowstone National Park.
Polaris representatives believe it is vitally important that they
continue to improve Polaris snowmobile parts for Best Available
Technology so their riders will be welcomed wherever snowmobiles
are allowed for recreation. Polaris is now an industry leader in
developing Polaris engine parts.
