Ski-Doo Snowmobile Parts
Unusual
dry conditions in the mountain regions of North America can be dangerous.
However, plenty of powder can be found once you have gotten off
the main track. In the thicker, deeper snow, one can experience
the best conditions for the superb floatation of the Summit REV
by Ski-Doo.
The Summit REV snowmobile by Ski-Doo is a sled designed especially
for mountain riding in powder snow. The unbelievable performance
of this machine has been perfected over five years of intense development
started by Ski-Doo's special projects division. It is everything
you want from a high-priced mod snowmobile machine. Ski-Doo snowmobiles
have gained more than 50% market share in Canada and 37% in the
US.
The Summit REV is an amazing snowmobile of fantastic engineering.
The ride is by far the best. The handlebar height and angle is easily
to adjust, the cables are long enough to accommodate a 7" riser
allowing the tallest rider to stand up without arching his or her
back. The footwell is easily to adjust. The front springs can be
adjusted quickly, too, just tipping the machine on its side. The
rear spring tension is adjusted by the spark plug wrench - something
necessary to bring along especially if you're going to double.
Under the hood you’ll find only the pipe and spare belt.
The actual motor is quite a bit further back in the sled. I am taken
back by how small the hood is. The gigantic swinging side panels
of this snowmobile allow the rider easy access to all parts of the
suspension and driveline, this is by far the easiest access of any
sled, and they are not only tough, but also cheep!
The punchy 800 HO delivers amazing power. The machine’s
port timing, head configuration and split reed valves and spacer
blocks are unique to the Summit REV snowmobile. The 16" X 144"
has excellent traction. The pyramid chassis offers the most reliable
stiffness. The whole package weighs in at 475 lbs dry, which is
a full 35 lbs off the previous Summit ZX chassis snowmobile.
What the snowmobile is missing is coupled rear ski-frame, because
Ski-Doo engineers decided on an uncoupled design in efforts to keep
weight low. This choice makes the snowmobile 12 lbs less. Both dealers
and VIC riders agreed the snowmobile rides very well despite not
having an SC 10 III or similar skidframe. Either way, the rear suspension
has 14.5 inches of travel, the front 9.5 inches. Bottom line: it
is hard to dispute a high- powered snowmobile that is so lightweight!
