Bags for Helmets
Your snowmobile helmet protects your head. Why not return the favor
and protect your snowmobile helmet with a snowmobile bag specifically
for it? A helmet bag will protect your helmet from unnecessary scratches
and also makes it much easier to tote around. A helmet bag will
also protect your snowmobile helmet during your off-season.
Ski-Doo makes an excellent molded protection case for your helmet.
It is lined with protective foam and a scratch-free polyester knit.
Just make sure that the helmet bag you choose fits your helmet
(some helmet bags do not fit helmets with face shields as well as
other), is lined with an ultra-soft, scratch-free lining, is waterproof
and seals well.
Snowmobile Bags for Touring
There are many different snowmobile bags that you can use for touring.
We are going to break them up into handlebar pouches, saddlebags,
and tank bags.
· Handlebar Pouches – Handlebar pouches are, of course,
great snowmobile bags for simple day rides, not just touring. You
can place in them your chapstick, sunscreen, water, map, and anything
else that you may need to have readily available on your long or
short ride. As with all snowmobile bags that you may choose, be
sure that you choose a handlebar bag that is water and mildew resistant.
Also, quick release buckle systems keep your items secure when you
are not using them, but makes it easy to get to them when you need
them.
· Saddlebags – Saddlebags are most necessary if you
plan on doing any touring. Small saddlebags can also be very useful
on day rides to carry some dry, warm clothing and other important
gear. Again, be sure to choose saddlebags that are both water and
mildew resistant. Also, be sure that the saddlebags you choose will
wear well, have quick release buckles, and is easy to install. You
should also look for saddlebags with a reflective strip or reflective
piping for ultimate safety during night touring.
· Backrest bag – a backrest bag is perfect for those
times you just need to relax. Choose one with drink holders! Again,
you want one that is water and mildew resistant and one that has
reflective strips.
· Tank bags, trunk bags, etc. – the same rules apply
for these bags, as well. Be sure that you choose bags that are going
to wear well, stand up to moisture and the elements, have reflective
strips for added protection, and also be sure that they are easy
to get into and can store everything you need to be stored.
Snowmobile Bags for Windshields
Protect your windshield by keeping it in a windshield bag. Once
again, choose a waterproof bag. Be sure that the bag you choose
will retain its shape, even after much use. Get one that fits your
windshield well… preferably get a windshield bag made especially
for your windshield. Windshield bags can come in many different
colors, so feel free to have some fun picking one out. And choose
a windshield bag that is easy to install.
