As
calloused and worn as your hands may be, they are still too delicate
to stand up to the cold of winter, that is why you most likely are
going to need a pair of winter gloves. There are many different
types of winter gloves to choose from. There are winter gloves for
winter sports and there are some for just playing out in the snow.
If you are simply needing to keep your hands warm while walking
downtown, you will want an entirely different sort of winter gloves.
If you are just downtown shopping or walking from your car to dinner
or on your way to work, you are probably going to want a sleek pair
of winter gloves. If you are wearing your nice work clothes or “going
out” clothes, you certainly do not want to be wearing a pair
of bulky ski mittens on your hands – they would throw the
whole look off. Instead, you likely want a sleek pair of winter
leather gloves. There are even some beautiful leather gloves with
fur linings that are sure to keep your hands warm and out of Jack
Frost’s sight.
Of course, these winter gloves, no matter how beautiful they are,
are not going to do quite the trick if you want to go out and build
a snowman. You are going to want a different pair of gloves if you
are going to keep your hands up to their wrists in snow all day!
In fact, you could probably just wear a pair of snowboarding gloves
or skiing gloves (which are basically the same sort of winter gloves).
Skiing gloves are going to keep your hands nice and warm, even
when the wind is hitting your hands as you shoot down the slopes.
Good skiing gloves will be both windproof and waterproof and also
full of warmth. Some people pull their snowboarding jackets or skiing
jackets’ sleeves down over their winter gloves to make sure
that no snow gets inside the gloves – once snow gets inside
a pair of winter gloves, all bets are off as to how warm your hand
will be able to stay! Of course, there are also winter gloves that
have long sleeves themselves that you can pull up over the sleeves
of your snowboarding jacket.
Even if you are not planning on spending very much time outside
during the winter, you may very likely want a good pair of winter
gloves. If your car has been sitting outside all winter night, then
it is certainly going to be cold in the morning. Your hands might
just feel like they are freezing directly to your steering wheel
unless you have on a pair of winter gloves. There are great fingerless
gloves that really leave your fingers free while you are driving
– fingerless gloves often have a flap that you can pull down
over your fingers when you need that extra warmth.
Winter gloves are great “hand tools” for everyone during
the cold winter months. Be sure to get for yourself some great winter
gloves.
